Best Ever M&M Sugar Cookies

Ingredients
  

  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flower
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 2 oz cream cheese
  • 1/3 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 6 tbsp melted butter warm
  • 1 tbsp milk
  • mini M&Ms

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 350. Line 2 Cookie Sheets with parchment paper
  • In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt
  • In another bowl, put 1 1/2 cups of the sugar and cream cheese in a bowl. Don't combine yet. Put the rest of the 1/3 cup sugar for rolling in a pie plate/bowl and set aside.
  • Pour the warm butter over the cream cheese mixture and stir. Mixture will be slightly lumpy. Stir in the oil, then the egg, milk and vanilla extract. Mix until smooth.
  • Using a spatula, stir the dry ingredients into the wet. When they are slightly mixed, add some m&ms into the mix, leaving some for later to top on the cookies.
  • Roll cookies into 1 1/2 inch balls. then roll bowls in sugar on the pie pan. Put on a pan two inches apart and put 2-3 m&ms on top of each one.
  • Bake cookies, 1 tray at a time, for about 10-12 minutes. Transfer them to a wire rack to let cookies cool. I usually let the cookies cool on the tray for 5 minutes and then transfer them to a wire rack to cool completely.
