Making your own Easy DIY Leather Earrings can be both fun and rewarding! You can make several different styles in a short amount of time, offering versatility for your jewelry box! They also make for fun gifts to give as well!
- Faux Leather Sheets
- Earring Hooks
- 5MM or 7MM Jump Rings
- Pair of Pliers
- Jump Ring Opener
- Pair of Scissors
- Hole Punch
- Leather Earring Die Cuts
- Die Cutting Machine such as Sizzix or Cuddlebug
- Or you could use a template and cut your own!
- Charms
The first thing you will want to do is cut down your leather sheet small enough to fit in your die cutting machine.
Sandwich your die sharp side onto your leather in between your pads. It may take some experimenting to find the perfect “sandwich” recipe for your die cut, because all die cuts vary in thickness.
Roll your leather through the machine
Take your die cut off your leather. Your die should have cut through the leather leaving you with a shape. Peel that shape away from the rest of the leather.
Hole punch a hole at the top (if the die cut doesn’t already have one)
Using your Jump Ring Opener, open the jump ring and loop it through the hole, along with an earring hook. Close the jump ring.
And that’s it! Repeat the steps for the other earring.
Want to spice it up?
- Create Different Layers and Patterns
- Add Charms and Baubles
- Use a Scissors to make “fringe” earrings
