My family is in love with these Best Every Bayou Bourbon Grilled Chicken, they keep coming back for more! If you haven’t stocked up on Bayou Bourbon Glaze yet from Tastefully Simple, you must! For this recipe, you could use any Bourbon Glaze, I have also used Braswell Sweet Bourbon Glaze and there are some bourbon glaze recipes online but I don’t have time for that! However, if you would like to try your hand at making your own Bourbon Glaze, I have heard this one from Fox Valley Foodie is delicious!
So Tastefully Simple actually has a recipe for this on their website, but I adapted and changed it a little bit. I actually marinated our chicken in the sauce for two hours before and then used it to glaze the chicken at the end of cooking it as well! The sauce really soaked into the chicken and it was incredibly juicy and delicious!
I used to feel uncomfortable grilling chicken, but over the years have learned a few tips and tricks!
- Cut your chicken down to smaller pieces. The bigger they are, the longer they take to cook.
- Pound boneless, skinless chicken breasts first. Place them in a zip lock bag and pound the thicker end, you will end up with less cooking time and evenly cooked meat.
- Cook chicken over medium, indirect heat. Its not like steak where it needs high heat to cook, it needs longer to cook so to avoid burning the outsides, cook it over medium, indirect heat.
- I typically dont sauce my chicken until the end, because I dont want it to burn, but I actually havent had any issues with this when I cook it over medium, indirect heat!
