Many of you already know, we are a big camping family. We try to go camping at least every other weekend. Lately, I have been taking my camera for the trip, and doing photo scavenger hunts. I choose 5-10 words, and then late at night I go out and take a photograph of something that I feel symbolizes that word. I might even makeup a photo scavenger hunt workbook too when I get a spare minute!
This past summer, we went to Lake Herman. Lake Herman is one of my favorite places to go camping. There is a beautiful driving road, lots of hiking trails, two swim beaches, and so much to do. I decided to go out at sunset and photograph just a few of my words!
Want to do your own photo scavenger hunt? Its really simple! Grab a dictionary, randomly open a page, close your eyes, point to a word and then write that word down! Do that as many times as you want. Then devote an hour or two in nature to find what you think closely resembles that word!
1. Journey
This time I selected several words and put them in a bowl. Everytime I go on a photo scavenger hunt, I pick out a few of these words and go on a trip! The first word I picked out during this scavenger hunt at Lake Herman was Journey.
2. Warmth
This is one of my favorite viewpoints at Lake Herman. Its up on the top of the hill when you are driving around the Herman Pond. It has an abundance of wildflowers that are absolutely beautiful!
3. Insight
Insight was probably my absolute favorite one but also the hardest one. Sometimes it takes a little bit of an adventure to find what you are looking for!
4. Growth
Although growth seemed more simple, I wanted to also tie in some beautiful sunset lighting to backlight the wildflowers, and this did not disappoint!
5. Perspective
Perspective was the last and hardest one to do. I could have used this one in many different reasons, but I decided to keep it pretty literal. This is what I came up with!
