Colorado is one of the most beautiful places I have ever been. With its expansive mountains, caves and scenery there is so much to do and see! We drove from South Dakota to Colorado and it was just breathtaking watching the scenery change as we got closer to the Rocky Mountains. Here are just a few things to do near Colorado Springs!

My top suggestion would be to visit the Garden of the Gods! This absolutely breathtaking landmark is rare and raw beauty! Because of all the different things you could do, the Garden of the Gods could be enjoyed over several days!
Amongst things to do…
- Hiking
- Rock Climbing
- Guided Tours
- Jeep and Trolley Tours
You can play your trip online here!

Another beautiful attraction near Colorado Springs is the Cave of the Winds! You must have a ticket to this, so plan your day in advance! There are plenty of things to do at the Cave of Winds, including different tour packages, Bat-A-Pult, Cliffhanger Climbing Wall and Geronimos Leap. If you are bringing kids, they can also pan for gemstones, do the Cave Crawl, and enjoy the Stalactykes Adventure Slide!

Pikes Peak was absolutley stunning and terrifying at the same time. “Rising over 14,000 feet into the sky, Pikes Peak captivates visitors with its stunning beauty and iconic presence along the front range.”
You can drive your own personal vehicle up Pikes Peak, or you can enjoy Jeep Tours as well! You will want to really pay close attention to Vehicle Restrictions and Mountain Driving as driving your own vehicle without paying attention to a few important details can be dangerous and costly! There are break check spots as well!
When we went, you had to stop your vehicle at a stopping point and they had a special bus that would drive you to the peak.

There are several spots to visit in the Rocky Mountains- Some great suggestions near Colorado Springs would be:
- The Broadmoor Seven Falls
- Red Rock Canyon Open Space
- Manitou Cliff Dwellings
- Palm Park
- Seven Bridges Trail

Up for a little drive? Head on over to Denver and visit the Aquarium! Rather inexpensive, this aquarium houses 500+ species, has a restaurant and lounge! On average, it takes about two hours to walk through the entire aquarium depending on how busy it is and how often you stop at each exhibit.
